Master Danse et pratiques chorégraphiques I 120 crédits

En prise avec les enjeux artistiques actuels et la réalité du monde contemporain, le Master offre aux chorégraphes, créateur.trice.s de demain, un cadre de formation d’enseignement de 2e cycle qui réunit et développe des apprentissages, compétences et recherches spécifiques à la danse, à son écriture et sa production. Traversée par une multiplicité d’approches et de références, la formation souhaite refléter la diversité esthétique et la richesse du champ chorégraphique d’aujourd’hui. Le Master a pour ambition d’offrir un cadre d’enseignement international et multiculturel qui interroge et stimule la (ré)invention de la place des artistes dans la société, qui favorise l’épanouissement de nouvelles modalités d’action artistique, de pratiques, démarches, réflexions, qui seront ceux des chorégraphes de demain.
Le programme privilégie une multiplicité d’approches et de dramaturgies, caractérisées par le trio de chorégraphes, pédagogues référent·es : Ayelen Parolin, Serge-Aimé Coulibaly et Daniel Linehan, et un large spectre de professeur·es invité·es (Boris Charmatz, Nora Chipaumire, Loïc Touzé, Louise Vanneste, Antia Otero Diaz, Sofie Durnez, Olga de Soto, Brice Cannavo…).
Son objectif est d’associer la théorie — histoire de la danse et de l’art, dramaturgie, analyse,… notamment en partenariat avec l’ULB — et les pratiques — corporelles et chorégraphiques. Placée au centre mais en interaction avec d’autres disciplines et corps de métiers, la création chorégraphique est également abordée dans ses dimensions techniques et administratives : création lumière, son, scénographie, costumes, production,…
Apprendre en faisant (learning by doing), apprendre à travailler avec les autres (do it with other) sont les principes généraux qui guident la pédagogie du Master afin de promouvoir la liberté et la responsabilité des futur.e.s artistes chorégraphes.
La formation se déroule sur deux ans de septembre à juin, sur les différents sites des structures associées (INSAS, La Cambre, Charleroi danse / La Raffinerie) et dans les studios mis à disposition par des organisations partenaires.
Elle s’adresse aux étudiant.e.s titulaires d’une licence ou d’un bachelor, et/ou d’acquis personnels relevant d’une expérience professionnelle (VAE) dans le domaine des arts de la scène ou dont la recherche est liée à la question du corps et du mouvement.

Conscious of today’s artistic challenges and the reality of the contemporary world, this master’s programme offers choreographers, tomorrow’s creators, a training framework for post-graduate education that combines and develops specific learning, competences and research in dance and its writing and production. Comprising a variety of different approaches and references, the programme is designed to reflect the aesthetic diversity and richness of choreography today. The aim of the master’s programme is to offer an international and multicultural teaching framework that challenges and stimulates the (re)invention of the place of artists in society, encouraging new forms of artistic action, practices, approaches and reflections to flourish – those of the choreographers of tomorrow.
The programme focuses on a multiplicity of approaches and dramaturgies, characterised by the trio of choreographers, reference teachers: Ayelen Parolin, Serge-Aimé Coulibaly and Daniel Linehan, and a wide range of guest teachers (Boris Charmatz, Nora Chipaumire, Loïc Touzé, Louise Vanneste, Antia Otero Diaz, Sofie Durnez, Olga de Soto, Brice Cannavo…).
Its objective is to link theory — history of dance, history of art, dramaturgy and analysis, notably in partnership with ULB — and practice — both physical and choreographic. Taking centre stage, but in interaction with other disciplines and professional paths, choreographic creation is also addressed in terms of its technical and administrative aspects, including lighting design, sound, stage design, costumes and production.
Learning by doing and teamwork are the general principles guiding the education in the master’s programme in order to foster the freedom and responsibility of future choreographers and artists.
The training course runs for two years, from September to June each year, at different sites of the associated organisations (INSAS, La Cambre, Charleroi danse/La Raffinerie) and at studios of other partners.
It is designed for students with an undergraduate degree and/or professional experience (accreditation of prior experiential learning, VAE) in the performing arts or whose research is linked to the body and movement.
